Dean for Academic and Quality Assurance
With an extensive career of nearly 5 decades, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt has been an educator and practitioner in the fields of tourism and hospitality, making him one of the foremost authorities in the field. He serves as the Dean for Academic and Quality Assurance at EAAS, where he uses his unsurpassed knowledge, skills and talents in hospitality and tourism, to the benefit of the institution.
He has various degrees, including a Master of Arts in Sinology, Sociology, and Political Science, as well as a PhD in Political Science from the prestigious and accredited Freie Universität, Berlin. He has taught tourist management at many German universities and served as a guest lecturer in China, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. His professional experience includes consulting and advising for both the public and private sectors, as well as some of the world's leading hospitality brands such as Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), Disney, and Hilton.
He is well-known for his grasp of Chinese outbound tourism and the key to unlocking tourism strategy, and tourism-related practices of cross cultural and environmental of a sustainable nature. His insights have had significant impact on both tourists and governments. He is also the originator of the 'meaningful tourism' idea, which builds tourism that is of positive nature to the tourists, the destination community, and the environment. With the help of Prof. Arlt, EAAS is on a positive path toward fulfilling future market demands by engaging in responsible activities of high academic and quality standards in tourism and hospitality.
With his global perspective and personal experience, he sparks students' passion and makes it possible for the institution to thrive as global competition rises.
