Lecturer

Dr. Oliver Chikuta is an academic, researcher, and educator in tourism and hospitality, associated with the European Academy of Advanced Studies (EAAS). He has a wealth of international experience in higher education, research, academic leadership, and the curriculum development. His areas of specialization include sustainable tourism, hospitality education, tourism management, and marketing of tourism destinations.

Here, he holds a PhD in Tourism Management, a Master of Commerce in Marketing Strategy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from North-West University, South Africa. He has a deep commitment to education and is strongly focused on research excellence and student engagement.

Dr. Chikuta has held several academic leadership positions internationally including Professor and Program Director, at Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute (China), Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality at Botho University (Botswana), and Dean at the School of Hospitality and Tourism at Chinhoyi University of Technology (Zimbabwe). He has been engaged in teaching, research, and community service as well as curriculum design and the development of academic programs.

At EAAS, Dr. Chikuta contributes to research-driven and interdisciplinary learning within tourism and hospitality studies, encouraging students to connect academic knowledge with practical industry applications.

Dr. Chikuta has published articles in peer-reviewed international journals about sustainable tourism, agritourism, accessibility, disability inclusion in tourism, climate change, and community based tourism development. His research has contributed to international academic discussions on sustainable and inclusive tourism development.

He has made research and teaching contributions by supervising doctoral and master's research and undergraduate research. He has also been involved in the assessment and quality control processes of higher education. His academic work continues to support innovation, sustainability, and inclusive practices in tourism and hospitality education.
