Faculty
Dr. Wang is a faculty member at EAAS. Her field of specialization is migration, labor markets, and global development. She has a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge. At Cambridge, she was a member of Jesus College and received both the Luca D'Agliano Scholarship and a College Scholarship. Dr. Wang‟s doctoral studies, supervised by Professor Peter Nolan, examined the socioeconomic impacts of migration in China. Dr. Wang also holds an MSc in Economics and a BSc in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and Queen's University of Belfast respectively, which have equipped her with a strong aptitude for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Dr. Wang's career has been shaped by various prestigious international organizations. She worked as a consultant in the Division of Labour Migration and Human Development at the International Organization for Migration in Geneva. There, she worked on China’s migration issues, contributed to working papers, and identified new projects to be developed. She also served as an Independent Researcher at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, as a Post-doctoral researcher at the Hertie School in Berlin and as a Project Officer at the British Embassy in Beijing. At present, she is a Research Fellow at the Taihe Institute in Berlin, where she authored a thorough report on skilled Chinese migrants to Germany. She is also an Affiliated Scholar at the University of Cambridge and is the Founder of the ICE International Childhood Education Forum in Germany.
Her work has been showcased at multiple conferences across Europe and Asia and has influenced policy discussions related to migration, population policy, and labour mobility outside of academia. Her research addresses tangible, real-world problems that societies face in an increasingly connected world.
