Dean for Academic and Quality Assurance
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt has over 50 years of expertise both academically and in practice in tourism and hospitality. He is a recognized expert and pioneer in his profession.
As the Academic and Quality Assurance Dean at EAAS, he develops the strategy to guide the academic evolution of the institution, fortifying the academic principles in practice and consolidating the quality assurance loop.
Prof. Dr. Arlt has a doctorate in Political Science from the Freie Universität Berlin and a master’s degree in Sinology, Sociology, and Political Science. He has professorships from several institutions in Germany and has held visiting fellowships in China, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
He has also helped and advised the most trusted hospitality and tourism brands such as Disney, the Hilton, and the InterContinental Hotels Group. He is esteemed for his focus on tourism, particularly in China, and for his creation of the Meaningful Tourism concept, which helps create positive results for visitors, the community that is hosting, and the ecosystem.
At EAAS, Prof. Dr. Arlt promotes the philosophy with his academic leadership, research, and development on responsible and sustainable tourism. His vast work experience permits him to assist the institution in developing a promising, quality-informed and safe learning space that meets industry standards.
